PUTSCH® Juice Purification Stations

The juice purification process plays a central role in sugar production. In the course of this production step, approximately one-third of the non-sugar content is removed from the juice. PUTSCH® has developed its own juice purification system, which can be adapted to process juices of widely-varying quality, so that the best possible product can be obtained from any given batch. Even under very difficult conditions, high quality juices with very good filtration characteristics, high purity, low lime-salt content and low color values can be extracted by the PUTSCH® system.

The main process is based upon classic juice purification principles. The major steps in this process are:
  • Pre liming
  • Main liming
  • First Carbonation
  • Filtration, Decantation, Carbonated lime extraction
  • Final liming
  • Second Carbonation
  • Reaction
  • Filtration, Safety Filtration

A special department in the PUTSCH® organization has the responsibility of conducting an evaluation and a "feasibility” study of each prospective installation site. As a result of this policy, PUTSCH® juice purification systems regularly achieve superior production results. Our systems-engineers design the juice purification stations, supervise their construction and are present to support the customer when the installation is put into operation. Every component of the PUTSCH® Juice Purification System is designed to satisfy the unique conditions and operating requirements of the respective sugar factory. As a result of this careful attention to detail, PUTSCH® is able to guarantee its customers the best and most efficient design features for the components at their particular installations.
